How to rotate pdf
- Upload your PDF
Drop your PDF onto the page or click 'Select files'.
- Choose rotation and scope
Pick how many degrees to rotate (90°, 180° or 270°) and whether to rotate all pages or only selected ones.
- Rotate and download
If you chose selected pages, tap the ones you want. Then click 'Rotate PDF' and download the result.
A PDF scanned upside down, a landscape diagram in a portrait document, or pages from a phone camera that came in sideways — Rotate PDF fixes the orientation and saves the correction permanently into the file.
Permanent rotation
Most PDF viewers let you rotate the view temporarily, but that setting is not saved to the file. Other people opening the same PDF will still see it at the original (wrong) angle. This tool writes the rotation into the PDF itself so the orientation is correct everywhere.
All pages or just some
Rotating all pages is one click. For mixed-orientation documents, switch to selected-pages mode: the thumbnail grid appears and you tap each page that needs fixing. The rotation is applied only to those pages, leaving the rest unchanged.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between 90° and 270°?
- 90° rotates clockwise (a portrait page becomes landscape with content pointing right). 270° rotates counter-clockwise (the same page with content pointing left). 180° flips the page upside down.
- Can I rotate only some pages and not others?
- Yes — switch the scope to 'Selected pages', tap each page you want to rotate, and then apply. Only those pages are affected.
- Does rotating change the page size?
- On most PDFs the page dimensions swap when you rotate by 90° or 270° (width becomes height and vice versa). Some viewers handle this differently, but the rotation is stored in the PDF standard rotation field.
- My PDF viewer already shows the page correctly — why does it print wrong?
- Some viewers apply a display rotation without saving it to the file. If printed pages come out sideways, the rotation is not in the file. Use this tool to write the rotation permanently into the PDF.
- Can I rotate pages to different angles in the same document?
- Not in one pass — you would need to run the tool twice, selecting different pages each time. For full per-page control use the Organize PDF tool.
Tips
- 180° is useful for PDFs scanned upside down.
- If only a single page is rotated, switch to 'Selected pages' mode to avoid rotating the rest of the document.
- After rotating, check the result in your PDF viewer before sending — some viewers show a cached version.
